Vaedoc Scribe is a speech-to-text tool designed to assist professionals with documentation in browser-based systems.
We take user privacy seriously and limit data access strictly to what is required for the extension to function.
Single Purpose
Vaedoc Scribe exists solely to convert user-initiated speech input into text and insert it into the active editable field within the browser.
Information We Collect
User Access Information
A unique access ID (UID) provided by the Vaedoc Scribe team is stored locally in the user’s browser.
The UID is used solely to authenticate and validate transcription sessions.
The UID does not contain personal information.
Audio Data
Audio input is accessed only when the user explicitly initiates a transcription action.
Audio is transmitted securely to Vaedoc Scribe servers solely for real-time transcription and is not accessed, recorded, or retained by the extension outside this operation.
Information We Do Not Collect
Vaedoc Scribe does not:
Collect or store personal health information (PHI) locally within the browser
Read, scrape, or analyze webpage content
Track browsing activity
Collect keystrokes or background user behavior
Access data without explicit user interaction
How Information Is Used
Information is used strictly to:
Convert user-provided audio into text
Insert transcribed text into user-selected editable fields
Authenticate valid usage of the service
Provide technical support only when explicitly requested by the user
No data is used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Data Storage
The UID is stored locally using Chrome’s storage API.
No text, audio files, or transcription results are permanently stored in the browser by the extension.
Transcription processing occurs server-side over secure connections and follows applicable data protection standards.
Permissions Usage
Vaedoc Scribe requests browser permissions only to support core functionality:
activeTab & scripting: Insert transcribed text into the active editable field at the user’s cursor position.
